car-Honda Ridgeline Black Edition AWD (2017) review ► Honda Ridgeline pick-up tested ► Naturally aspirated V6 and AWD ► 2017 model year US-market truck The extended version of  Honda’s  2010 Impossible Dream advert illustrated how Honda has built everything from motorbikes to sports cars, quad bikes to speed boats, private jets to robots. But no mention was made of a pick-up truck, perhaps because the advert was never shown in the US. Yet  Honda  has designed and manufactured the Ridgeline – often referred to as a ‘sports utility truck’ – in the US since 2005. The second-generation version was launched at the 2016 Detroit motor show, and  CAR  took the opportunity to drive the top-spec Black Edition AWD model during a recent trip Stateside. McLaren 540C (2017) review car news2017 ► McLaren 540C review ► It's the cheapest McLaren yet ► Full UK road test, specs  The 540C is McLaren’s least expensive car. As such there’s much that’s missing. It lacks the 650S’s Proactive Chassis Control, which replaces mechanical anti-roll bars (and their intrinsic compromise) with interlinked hydraulics for a plush ride with circuit-ready body control. A simpler kind of McLaren The 540C also uses iron brake discs rather than carbon-ceramics, and four-piston front calipers as opposed to the 570S’s six-piston units. It obviously also goes without the hybrid powertrains of either the P1 or McLaren’s MP4-31 F1 car (a relief in the case of the latter), and at 533bhp, 398lb ft and 199mph is down 29bhp, 45lb ft and 5mph on the £143,250 570S. The new McLaren 540C costs £128,550. The link between the McLaren 540C and its more senior peers What’s compelling though is just how much the 540C retains. McLaren’s ultra-stiff c

Lexus LC500 prototype 2017 Think  Lexus , and you probably think whispering limousines, wailing hybrids and impeccable reliability and dealer service. But sporty? Not so much. Here comes the car to change your perceptions: the new 2017 Lexus LC 2+2 coupe. Underpinned by a clean-sheet chassis and powered by a naturally aspirated V8 or V6 petrol/electric hybrid, this grand tourer is a rival for the  BMW 6-series  and  Maserati GranTurismo . Does it deliver? Read our early prototype review to find out. The LC means business – and it comes from the top The LC was born out of adversity, experienced by none other than Akio Toyoda, company boss and member of Toyota’s ruling family. Reputedly, Toyoda was appalled when he unveiled the slab-sided, gaping grilled new  GS  in 2011 to a negative reception, including outright chuckling. Toyoda swiftly took control of the company’s premium brand, establishing it as a separate business unit with orders to make its cars more cap

Cupra Car News - 2017 Seat Ateca Cupra prototype spotted 2017 New spy shots have revealed Seat’s upcoming Ateca Cupra, a performance-focused SUV with a 286bhp punch, undergoing on-road trials in Barcelona.
