The 2015 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque Autobiography and Autobiography Dynamic are two new limited editions that flesh out the Range Rover Evoque lineup for 2015.

When Do They Go on Sale? 

The 2015 Range Rover Evoque Autobiography and Autobiography Dynamic will go on sale in the fall.

How Much Do They Cost? 

Pricing has not been announced. But since the Autobiography models are positioned at the top of the line, they are expected to start around $60,000.

What Kinds of Engines and Transmissions Do They Have? 

• 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder: 240 horsepower, 251 pound-feet of torque (Autobiography) 

• 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder: 285 hp, 295 lb-ft of torque (Autobiography Dynamic) 

• Nine-speed shiftable automatic transmission 

• EPA rated at 21 mpg city and 30 mpg highway

What Unique Features Does the Autobiography Package Offer? 

The Autobiography limited editions feature enhanced body styling, 20-inch forged alloy wheels and premium leather interior details. The chassis in the Autobiography Dynamic model has been optimized for sharper handling and the nine-speed ZF automatic transmission has been retuned so it responds better to driver inputs. Land Rover says the Autobiography Dynamic is the most performance-focused Range Rover Evoque.

What Models Will It Compete Against? 

BMW X3: The top-of-the-line 2014 BMW X3 xDrive35i can be upgraded with the $3,000 M Sport package that adds such items as a full-body aerodynamic kit, 19-inch M light alloy wheels and a dynamic damper control system that adjusts damping characteristics to suit the driving conditions and road quality.

Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class: The high-end version of the 2014 Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class can be outfitted with a $1,990 Sport package that bundles an AMG body styling kit, including chiseled front and rear bumpers and integrated chrome skid plates. Other package items include 20-inch AMG twin five-spoke alloy wheels and aluminum roof rails.

Volvo XC60: Goodies abound in the high-end 2014 Volvo XC60 T6 R Design, especially if buyers add the $4,000 Platinum trim level. If all the boxes are checked, this version features a sport chassis, gearshift paddles, a premium sound system, navigation system and a power tailgate.

Should You Wait for It? 

This is the first time that the coveted Autobiography limited editions will be available on the Range Rover Evoque, one of the most stylish — and expensive — compact SUVs. Buyers who aren't deterred by a big price tag may have to get in line for the Evoque Autobiography editions, since they will be as close to a custom version of the SUV as possible.
